I think that originally the surgery probably shortened Charlie's life span because he goes through so much information so fast his brain "shorts out". Another way to think of it as his brain is a fuse and the more electricity you run through the fuse the faster it burns out. That is why I think that Charlie's life span was shortened.
I think the operation has a negative effect on his brain. I think his brain will slowly deteriorate and will slowly "kill" him. He will get smarter but then it will reverse and fade away and he will be back to normal. It could kill him maybe i think.
I agree with my fellow class mates. I think eventually he will gain so much knowledge that his brain will start to lose it all. Or his brain with eventually deteriorate, like Nathan says. Just what I think.
