  1. I have to agree with the decisions that Charlie made. He clearly was not going far with his life at the time, and he didn't have much to lose. All his life Charlie wanted to be smart and he knew that he wasn't. This was a perfect opportunity. No doubt about it, I would have the same surgery done to me. It would help science and if it didn't work, then I wouldn't be very much worse off. I would do exactly as Charlie did.

  2. I think Charlie made the right decision for himself because he was trying for a long time to become smarter and wasn't improving much. If I was Charlie and was trying so hard to be smart and learn lots of new things I would've just kept going to Beekmin College. I would try my hardest and do as much as I could to become more intelligent, even if it was just a little bit at a time.

  3. Personally, I think Charlie took the right course of action in accepting the surgery from the doctors. Imagine yourself in his situation, seeing people every day who can read, write, and converse easily, and aren't troubled by simple problems such as Charlie. Wouldn't you want to be more like them, and also be willing to sacrifice something to achieve that goal? Influences in his life such as his Mom and Ms. Kinnian have ingrained in his mind a goal to always strive to be smart; to have a positive motivation and work hard to achieve his goals. I think in Charlie's case the possible benefits outweigh the consequences, and if the surgery does turn out for the worse, he will lose the intelligence he gained after the surgery, and will be in the situation he was preceding the surgery, which isn't the worst possible outcome.

  4. I think Charlie made the right decision in getting the operation. If you had a disability the most important thing to you would probably getting to be like everyone else around you, lots of people in our world treat people with a disability differently and poorly. If i was charlie i would have made the same decision because when your in the state he is then you have nothing to lose in the operation.

  5. I think that he should not have had the surgery. i think that because why change how you were made. if you were meant to be like that, then you should not be messing around with it. self confidance is very important in this situation. just because he has problems does not mean he does not have value and should be smart.
